He sings, he plays guitar, he writes music.. and he has his own furniture collection?

Yes, the rumors are true!
Eric Church has created a successful furniture collect known as
The Highway To Home Collection.

The Highway To Home Collection is an authentic and original home furnishing line created by Eric Church. This collection was not thought of on the dime, it had taken Church a long time to decide that this was a path that he wanted to follow, in addition to his musical career. The collection was designed primarily because of Church's love of being on the road, traveling from one venue to another, but always having a place to call home - a place where family resides and traditions are kept alive. A place, where one can always go back to.

“Staying connected with my roots has always been important to me and Highway to Home is a natural extension of my family heritage,” says Church. “My dad was in the industry. My first job was in a furniture plant, so yes, it is in my blood. This project is truly about building a home around those experiences and memories that make up our lives.”

The Highway to Home features four separate collections that are available for purchase at select retail outlets nationwide, and RoomsToGo locations. The four collections consist of: Silverton Sound, Hickory Canyon, Heartland Falls, and Arrow Ridge. Church declared the names of these collections after fictitious places that represent destinations along his journey not only as an artist, but as a man going through every day life. The collections range from a nostalgic mix of arts and crafts to urban-industrial to eclectic all with a touch of rock ‘n’ roll spirit. Highway to Home collections all include bedroom sets, dining room furniture as well as place settings, occasional and upholstery pieces, and accent pieces that range from classic to those that are distinctly Country Style Eric Church

“Highway to Home is about the journey home----the ultimate destination,” said Pulaski Furniture President Page Wilson. “This is not necessarily about Eric’s songs or performances, but instead founded on the adventures and experiences of a traveling musician through the eyes of a creative writer as he travels the world from show to show and home again.”

As Church decided to create this business, atop of his flourishing music business career, he has made it publicly know that a substantial designated portion of the proceeds from Highway to Home will be donated annually to JDRF through his Chief Cares foundation. JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research, and Church has made a wonderful commitment to this foundation.

Inside the Music

Have you ever wondered how famous singer song writers come up with all those tracks on their albums?  Well I have, so looking into this further I was able to discover a detailed interview with Eric Church from April 2016.  Church reveals that most albums are scripted and have due dates and releases dates.  However, in the interview, Church says that he and his band were able to create all the tracks on his new album including new single Mr. Misunderstood.  Church wasn't done with his quick work of his newest music before he came up with an unorthodox way to release his newest work.  During the CMA awards (Country Music Awards) the following week, Eric preformed Mr. Misunderstood live for the very first time to his fans and any fans viewing the program.

Church is asked why he took this approach, letting the fans hear the music first, before the critics or other in the industry.  He responds saying
"It's kind of flying by the seat of your pants a little bit.  The way we did it, a surprise release, we didn't do a lot of things we normally do: whether it be with retail, press, distributors.  We took a shot and did it adjust trusted it would go to the fans first; we'd let the other stuff fall into place."

Reporter follows up asking "Why the surprise release?"
Church responds saying
"I really went back to the fact that this was the way the record arrived to me.  It was almost like a portal.  It just happened.  And it happened so fast.  It just felt wrong to sit on it for the next six to eight months.  That would have been the plan if we went by the script."

The interview goes on to talk about other songs on this new record and how they were created.  Perhaps some of Church's deepest tracks including Record Year and Mistress Named Music.  I encourage fans to go and check out some of this new music released this year if you haven't already and vote for your favorite below.
